Columbia number one citizen, Juan Manuel Santos said he was perplexed when Steve Harvey, host of the Miss Universe pageant mistakenly announced Columbia Queen, Miss Ariadna Gutierrez as winner only for him to pronounce Miss Philippines, Pia as winner instead citing his earlier announcement as a mistake.
Speaking to Radio Nacionsl, president Santos, who had watched the Sunday event with his family said:
“Our Queen was marvelous. She looked spectacular. It was such a disappointment when the host said he’d made a mistake; I was watching Miss Universe with my family. We started a huge celebration when they said Columbia had won the Miss Universe Title for the second straight year.”
“To me, our queen is and will remain Miss Universe”
It is good to see a president this supportive.
