Emily Harrington is a professional climber from Boulder Colorado. Emily has been climbing for most of her life. But it is the last 3 years that has been a remarkable breakthrough for her. She has gone from failing on 5.9 terrain to redpointing 5.14B and climbing 5.13A on traditional equipment. This past summer she set history again by making the first free ascent of Golden Gate 5.13 VI on El Capitan in Yosemite National Park. emily-harrington-golden-gate-climb

Her partner and boyfriend Adrian Ballinger accompanied her on the climb as she led every pitch and climbed every move over the 40 pitches of granite. The two were on the wall for 6 days, fighting pitches like The Monster, a burly off width thats over 1,000ft off the ground and a 5.12 down climbed that nearly stopped her dead in her tracks.
