Barack Obama, President of the United States of America had on Tuesday warned his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, to stay off the civil war in Syria. POTUS reminded Putin of the consequences of getting involved in the deadly conflict that has taken thousands of lives.
Obama, who met with Putin on Monday says he doesn’t disagree with him that the civil war in Syria must come to end but believes certain measures must be taken as a political resolution is being brought to fruition. These things will include not getting hastily involved in the war with Afghanistan still fresh in memory and the fate of Bashar al-Assad, the current Syrian President as America does not want him to continue as President.
“I think Mr. Putin understands that … with Afghanistan fresh in the memory, for him to simply get bogged down in an inconclusive and paralyzing civil conflict is not the outcome that he’s looking for,” Obama said at a news conference in Paris.
